JOB SUMMARY
The Interactive Department Intern supports the Service Department and Fabrication team by producing 3D-printed parts and assisting with hands-on projects tied to Holt Experiential's interactive builds. This role is designed for a candidate looking to learn CAD as it relates to 3D printing, taking on the bulk of the more repetitive part-production tasks while also gaining exposure to niche work such as configuring electronic shelf labels for ADI, managing cable runs for electronics integrated into millwork, and documenting damaged interactive items returning from shows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Learn and apply CAD fundamentals as they relate to 3D printing and part design.
• Create and produce 3D-printed parts to support the Service Department and Fabrication team, including handling many of the repetitive, day-to-day part requests.
• Assist with electronic shelf label (ESL) projects for ADI, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting across numerous units.
• Learn and support cable management for electronics integrated into millwork, helping ensure clean, functional, and show-ready builds.
• Photograph and label interactive items returning from shows in damaged condition, maintaining clear documentation for repair and tracking purposes.
• Support various niche, hands-on projects as they come up across the Interactive Department.
• Maintain organized records of parts, projects, and completed tasks.
• Follow all shop safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/coursework in engineering, industrial design, CAD/drafting, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience/interest).
• Interest in learning CAD software and 3D printing technology; prior exposure is a plus but not required.
• Comfortable working with tools, electronics, and hands-on fabrication tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills; able to shift between planned tasks and pop-up projects.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take direction from Service Department and Fabrication team members.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
• Location: Kernersville, NC (on-site).
• This is a hands-on, shop-based internship involving physical tasks, standing, and working with tools and equipment.
