INSTRUCTIONS FOR UNCG MLIS INTERNSHIP WITH GPL
Step 1:
Reach out to a Branch or Division Manager at the Greensboro Public Library. (https://library.greensboro-nc.gov/about-us)
Step 2:
After you’ve made contact with a manager you’d like to work with on an internship, complete the City of Greensboro’s mandatory Internship application (https://www.greensboro-nc.gov/departments/people-culture/important-employment-information/internships ), making sure to specify that you are applying for a library internship.
Step 3:
Tell your contact at the Greensboro Public Library that you have officially applied for an internship, so they can notify P&C Consultant in Talent Acquisitions. The P&C Consultant in Talent Acquisitions (Cora Cunningham Coranetta.cunningham@greensboro-nc.gov
336-373-2600) will route your application to the Libraries Hiring Officials based on their need or request.
Step 4:
Begin your internship based on the arrangement organized between you and the library, ensuring that you have also filled out all paperwork required by UNCG if you intend to secure course credit for this practicum internship.

The internship applicant pool is a central pool for all departments. Applicants in the supplemental questions select which department they would like to participate in, and I refer accordingly to that department's need or request.
This only applies to true non-paid internships. If you’re internship program will be a paid internship (roster position), then we would prepare a requisition to route to Malissa for ad creation
