I’m writing on behalf of the International Center for Multigenerational Legacies of Trauma (ICMGLT), a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to addressing the long-term impact of trauma across generations through research, education, advocacy, and the development of our virtual research library. As in past years, we’re hoping that you will share information about our Remote Library Cataloging Internship opportunity with students who are interested in gaining practical experience in library and information science, digital archiving, and/or metadata work.
We’ve attached a flyer and job description which may be shared with students and included in relevant departmental communications. .
A few key details about our internships which may appeal to prospective students:
- The work is fully remote, with a flexible time commitment of 4–8 hours per week
- Interns can elect either a one- or two-semester internship
- We offer internship credit (consistent with your program’s guidelines) as well as mentorship opportunities
- This internship is ideal for students with cataloging coursework, metadata experience, or an interest in virtual libraries and trauma studies
In addition, we are now offering a physical cataloguing project option for one or more New York City-based candidates.
