Join us as a Librarian II in the Youth Services department of the Spring Lake library branch and embark on an exciting adventure! Lead and train a dynamic team while designing creative programs for children from birth through grade 12. Step into the role of Team Lead during the branch manager’s absence and make a lasting impact on young minds.
Work with other YS Librarians II under the direction of the Division Manager for Programs to plan and implement new services and programs for youth. You may be assigned system-wide responsibilities such as grant management, new service development, or ordering materials.
CONDITIONS:
Driving is an essential function of this classification. Must have or obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License within sixty (60) days of employment and maintain license with an acceptable driving record.
This position involves working with juveniles less than 18 years of age and may be required to undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history check conducted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in accordance with Session Law 2025-16.
Background check with local law enforcement agency required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in Library Science and one (1) year of professional library experience, preferably including six months of supervisory experience.
Management preferences
Experience in providing services to youth. A demonstrated ability to manage a grant-related project with minimal supervision.
