Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:
A wide range of student and faculty-centered services are the cornerstone of the UNC Greensboro University Libraries’ integral role in the community. As an essential component of education and research at UNC Greensboro, University Libraries offer access to more than four million print and digital items along with innovative programs, support services and expert personnel to assist patrons in achieving their academic and scholarly goals. Position Description:
· Packs archival materials in the appropriate boxes/enclosures for moving to Becher-Weaver, Oakland Ave storage area, and Library Tower, including creating labels for all boxes in the archives that are to be moved.
· Works with the SCUA staff to support processing priorities, establish a workflow, and document work and collections.
· Tracks the current location of materials as well as new locations in Becher-Weaver, Oakland Ave, and Tower via Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and ArchivesSpace
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in humanities or social sciences. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
· Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work individually and collaboratively in a team setting. Strong attention to detail.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, sound judgment and discretion.
· Must be able to physically lift, carry, and move archival boxes and material weighing up to 40 pounds.
Preferences:
· Background in library science, preservation, or history.
· Previous library work experience.
