The Early College Research Center, SERVE at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH SPECIALIST.
We are looking for an individual to be part of a growing team producing some of the nation’s leading research on early college, dual enrollment, and postsecondary transitions. These projects include a large-scale study of North Carolina’s dual enrollment program and longitudinal experimental studies of the impact of early college high schools, as well studies of different programs designed to improve postsecondary success. Please check out our website for more information about our work. We are looking for someone with strong expertise in quantitative methods and who also has comfort with and interest in mixed methods. Qualifications include: • A Master's in Applied Research, Experimental Research, Educational Research, or Program Evaluation or a related field (e.g., Economics, Public Policy) with a minimum of 3 years experience as a researcher or evaluator. A doctorate in Applied Research, Experimental Research, Educational Research, or Program Evaluation or a related field is preferred and can be substituted for some of the years of experience. • Experience with analytic techniques used in conducting experimental or quasi-experimental impact studies, including proficiency in computer coding (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, or SAS) and data visualization software. • Experience in working as part of a team to design and implement research and evaluation studies. • Experience with mixed methods and qualitative data collection. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. • Experience in educational settings and in working effectively with educators, with particular emphasis on presentation and group facilitation skills. • Knowledge, skills, and/or experience working in racially, culturally, and/or linguistically diverse education settings. • A strong sense of personal initiative with a willingness to develop new projects. The fine print: This position will be a full-time employee of UNC Greensboro with benefits and will be based either at the SERVE offices in Browns Summit, NC or at the Early College Research Center office located in Durham, NC with the option to work remotely part of the time.
