The State Archives of North Carolina is seeking applications for Correspondence Assistant. This paraprofessional entry-level position will help provide access to the public records of the state to researchers.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Make accurate photocopies or scans of the records and send them to the recipients in a timely manner using various types of processes such as mail, email, etc.
- Serve as the back up to the security assistant position and the reference staff when needed.
- Assist the correspondence archivists by utilizing indexed and abstracted records to complete remote research requests.
- Pull original records from the archival stacks when requested.
- Shelve original records in the archival stacks and books in the Search Room library.
- Assist with locating, scanning and printing records and labels for rotating exhibits in the Search Room Display case.
This position will work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule. The hiring range is $31,200.00 - $35,663.00.
