The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) McGoogan Health Sciences Library seeks an Education & Research Services (E&RS) Librarian to join our highly collaborative library faculty. This full-time, 12-month position serves as the primary research and instruction liaison to the College of Medicine. The E&RS Librarian will engage in curriculum-based instruction, perform literature searches, guide researchers, and provide outreach to students, faculty, staff, and UNMC-affiliated partners. They will be a vital part of a team that seeks to learn together, support each other, and contribute to a shared mission in a vibrant academic health sciences environment. As a member of the library faculty, this role also includes participation in shared governance of the library, service on university committees, and active involvement in relevant professional organizations.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree in research-related field or master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution.
At least one year of experience as a librarian in an academic or health sciences library.
Experience conducting literature searches and providing instruction in research databases.
Demonstrated teaching skills.
Knowledge of information literacy in health sciences disciplines.
Ability to develop high quality curricular materials, i.e. guides, tutorials, videos, and/or online modules to meet defined learning outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and connect with students, faculty, and staff.
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Commitment to demonstrating collegiality and fostering a collaborative, welcoming environment.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with research partners.

This is a full-time, 12-month, open rank position. Both early- and mid-career librarians are encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants may be hired at assistant, associate or full professor rank and a salary reflective of rank. The salary range for this position is $62,000–$85,000, depending on qualifications.
This position is on-site in Omaha, with possible partial remote work flexibility. An advanced degree in research-related field or master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution is required. Library faculty participate in campus service and receive support to pursue professional development. Faculty pursuing promotion and tenure have additional scholarship and professional service requirements.
