The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Libraries invite applications for two exciting opportunities: Research and Education Informationist and Research Impact Informationist. These positions offer a chance to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment dedicated to advancing research, education, and clinical practice at MUSC.
Research and Education Informationist
The Research and Education Informationist will provide research and knowledge management services to students and teaching, clinical, and research faculty from the College of Nursing and select programs in the College of Health Professions. This position reports to the Associate Director of Libraries and will work in a flexible, team-oriented, highly collaborative environment. A broad scope of work and activities are within this position, including expert search services, teaching and education, research consultations, and community engagement to MUSC students, faculty, and staff in the health sciences.
Research Impact Informationist
The Research Impact Informationist will lead the development of the library’s research impact services program, with a focus on scholarly output, bibliometrics, and research impact assessment. Reporting to the Associate Director, this position will work closely the Office of Research, the South Carolina Clinical & Translational Research (SCTR) Institute, MUSC Libraries, and other campus partners to support and enhance research impact services. An ALA-accredited master’s degree or an advanced degree in informatics, data science, health sciences, statistics, biological, life, or physical sciences.
Salary Range: $60,000 to $90,000
Faculty Rank & Work Environment: The faculty rank for both positions is open. MUSC faculty members work hybrid schedules as appropriate for their roles.
Location Requirement: Successful candidates must relocate to Charleston, SC. Relocation assistance is provided.
